Tattoos are a popular accessory for the Y generation at DVC.
Walking around the Main Quad, an Inquirer reporter found a couple of people with tats in almost every group he spoke with.
Some were nothing more than decoration with no special meaning, looking as though they could have been picked off the wall of any tattoo parlor.
One student said he woke up with a tattoo after his friends decided to tattoo him while he was passed out in what he called a “drunken mistake.”
Yet others had much more meaningful tats, some memorializing loved ones who had passed away, others commemorating events students felt defined their lives.
“Beating death, congratulations that I made it to my 21st birthday,” said Jay Walker about why he got his tattoo. He said he planned on continuing his tattoo down his arm and is working on a mural for his back.
