The Buzz: How are you conserving water during the drought?
April 28, 2015
“I’ve stopped watering my lawn, while I used to keep my sprinklers on for 5 to 10 minutes.”
“I live on a ranch, so we have our own private water source. We have a 18,000 gallon water reserve for back up so we have always had to be water conscience since it is our own water.”
“I own a house in the Antioch hills, so I try to conserve as much as possible. Shower time at two minutes, only do the dishes when the dishwasher is full, recycle water for my plants and brushing teeth.”
“I’ve always conserved water to some degree: while brushing teeth, always taken two minute showers and only flushing the toilet when necessary.”
“Strictly 10 minute showers. Also, when I brush my teeth, I’ll shut off water while brushing. Not entirely sure if this conserves water, but I don’t buy water bottles.”
“Got a letter informing about water usage, so now we really have to start conserving, taking shorter showers and what not.”

I’m going to ask Grounds Maintenance to adjust the sprinklers so they stop watering the parking lot and Viking drive during the 6am watering cycle.
